Specifies requirements for two commercial stages, i.e. semiprocessed or non-processed when the pepper is sold by the producing country without cleaning or after partial cleaning, withoutpreparation or grading, or processed when the pepper is sold after cleaning, preparation and/or grading. Does not apply to categories called [light'. Lists the physical and chemical characteristics and describes sampling, test methods, and packing and marking. Annex A covers the determination of percentage of light berries in black pepper. Annex B deals with the determination of apparent bulk density of whole black pepper and Annex C includes recommendations for storage and transport.
