Describes two methods for the preparation of laboratory samples which are specified according to whether sampling is undertaken at the point of scale, at the producer's premises or importer's warehouse. Difference is made between sampling at one point in time and sampling over a period of time. An annex establishes procedures for sampling cigarettes which are intended for the determination of the mean of values of condensate (water- and nicotine-free) and nicotine.
