The series is also applicable to the determination of the saturation characteristics of a dosimeter or checking scale linearity. Since the spectra are broad and asymmetric, the series is not suitable for accurate energy response measurements and shall only be used when the exposure rates produced by the narrow and wider series prove inadequate. Quality ofreference radiations is specified in terms of X-ray tube constant potential, first half value layer and homogeneity coefficient.
