Additionally described are the dimensions of a set of film identification notches which assign a code number to a specific film at the request of the film manufacturer, however, neither the assignment nor the incorporation of film identification notches for particular film products is required by the standard. The procedure to be followed by film manufacturers in obtaining code numbers is given in the annex.
