Guidelines for third-party assessment and registration of a supplier's quality system

This Guide sets forth criteria, the observance of which is intended to ensure that assessment bodies operate third-party assessment systems in a consistent andreliable manner, thereby facilitating their acceptance and recognition on a national or international basis. While it has been produced with a view to providing a basis for harmonizing third-party assessment systems, many of the provisions contained might be useful in second-party assessment procedures. In detail, considerations are given for application of assessment, assessment procedure, issue of a registration document, misuse and suspension of registration, withdrawal/cancellation, implementation of changes to the system rules, etc.
