Provides performance requirements but permits some variation of design and of methods of packaging and sterilization by individual manufacturers. Materials to be used for the construction of hubs for sterile needles are not specified in detail, however, they should be compatible with injection fluids. The second edition of this standard constitutes a minor revision of the 1984 one with respect to re-designation ofneedle length, addition of new tolerances and correction of errors.
