This standard is applied for as well all types of sterile shunts as single components of these, for instance valves, catheters, connectors, pressure converters, etc., and spare parts. Essential terms are defined. The Annexes A, B and C are normative and contain test methods for determination of acid and alkali contents, pressure and flow characteristics and the return flow. Annexes D and E are informativ and include a material guide and alifetime testing method.
