Describes an 8-bit coded character set derived from, and compatible with, the 7-bit coded character set. Defines a family of 8-bit codes character sets. Is limited to its members having the characters of a version of the 7-bit coded character set. Consists of a basic table defining the character set and its coded representation, complemented by notes, legend and guidance on the exercise of the options to define specific versions.
