Specifies 5 methods. The method chosen in any particular case is essentially dependent on the magnitude of the dimensions to be measured. Three of the methods are of general use over their specified range of applicability. Methods A 1, A2 and A3 are applied to dimensions less than 30 mm, method B to 30 to 100 mm, and method C to more 100 mm. One is a non-contactprocedure, another includes the measurements of compression set test pieces. An annex shows the apparatus suitable for the first method.
