Section 1 specifies a method for the determination of the length of a roll. This method is laborous and is intended for use with a roll length up to 100 m as a reference method with which other methods may be checked. The film or sheeting is unrolled into lap form and passed over a measuring table andmeasured in suitable divisions of length. Section 2 specifies a method for the determination of the average width of a roll and the width of a sample of plastics fil or sheeting. The measurement is carried out on a flat table by means of a linear scale, subdivided into 1 mm divisions.
