This fourth edition cancels and replaces the third edition (1985). It specifies the designation, dimensions, and load ratings of tyres. It tabulates rim diameter codes from 10 to 19, correlations between load index and tyre load-carrying capacity as well as between speed symbols and speed category. An annex gives guideline values for tyres and rim widths for tyres relating to nominal aspect ratio (H/S).
