Specifies a procedure for assessing, by of a simple empirical test, the resistance of coating materials to separation from a substrate. When applied to a multicoat system, the procedure also allows assessment of the resistance of the layers to separation from one another. The test can becarried out using several approved cutting tools. The tool must, however, meet some general requirements. It is of particular importance to ensure that the cutting portion of the tool has a defined shape and its edges are in good condition. the choise of the tool shall be the subject of agreement between the interested parties.
