Specification of requirements for manually mixed cements based on the reaction between a oxide powder, the principal constituent of which is zinc oxide, and aqueous solutions of phosphoric acid which may contain metal ions. It also covers those cements used as well for luting agents to seal dental appliances to hard oral structures or to other appliances as for the baseof a tooth-filling or temporary filling material. The standard replaces ISO recommendation R 1565/1970 of which it constitutes a technical revision.
