Aqueous solutions of the substances this International Standard refers to become heterogeneous when their temperature is raised, because of the formation of two liquid phases. The system becomes homogeneous again when the temperature falls. The determination is carried out by heating the product in solution at the required concentration until the liquid is completely opaque and subsequent cooling with constant stirring. The temperature at which the opacitydisappears is noted.
