Information processing; ISO 7-bit coded character set for information interchange

Specifies a set of 128 control and graphic characters (letters, digits and sysmbols) with their coded representation. Most of them are mandatory and unchangeable. Provision is made for some flexibility to accomodate national and other requirements. Provides a 7-bit coded chracter set with a number of options. Defines the International Reference Version (IRV).
