The diffuse reflectance factor can be used for the evalution of optical properties such as ISO brightness, scattering coefficient of pulp, opacity, whiteness, luminous reflectance factor, the chromaticity co-ordinates of paper and the intrinsic reflectance factor of nonfibrous materials.
