Applies to ceramic ware, for example china, porcelain, porcelain and earthenware, whether glaced or not, but excluding glass ceramic and enamelled articles. It specifies based on WHO recommendations for limits for the release of toxic heavy metals, the permissible limits for lead and cadmium release, when determined by the method described in ISO 6486-1.
