Specifies a method for determining the tendency of cigarettes to lose their contents at the ends. This particularly affects short strands. The standard points out that the greater a cigarette's resistance to this loss the higher is its quality. Moreover, it describes the vibrating box apparatus into which the test sample shall be placed and subjected to a series of impacts repeated in such a way as to bring about artifically a loss of tobaccostrands at the ends.
