The principle consists in determination of the mass and volume of a steel disc. The disc is coated with the product to be tested; the mass and volume of the disc and the dried coating are then determined by weighing in air and in a liquid of known density. From the measured masses and volumes of the disc beforeand after coating, the mass and volume of the dried coating film are calculated. The product under test is cured or dried at a specified temperature for a specified period.
