Defines the general conditions for determining the viscosity number and limiting viscosity number of organic polymers in dilute solution. It contains the definition of terms and units, the describtion of the capillary viscosimeter with supended level, the preparation of solutions, the measuring procedure and the calculation of the results. It is intended to be used as a guide in the development of standardsfor measuring the viscosities of individual types of polymers. Annex B gives details on the most impotant sources of error.
