Two procedures are specified, applicable to a) bundles of fibres and b) individual fibres. The procedure for bundles of fibres can only be applied to those fibres which can be kept rectilinear and parallel during the preparation of bundles. It is not applicable to wool or textured fibres. - Replaces ISO Recommendation R 1973-1971 to which this International Standard is identical.
