This standard deals with accessories of anaesthetic equipment and medical breathing machines and specifies the basic requirements for the commonly used types of tracheal tubes made of rubber or another elastomeric material. Tubes with reinforced walls for the different purposes are not specifically covered although the most have the same sizedesignation by the inside diameter. The Magill type tubes shall meet the requirements of ISO 5361-1, too. The basic dimensions of tracheal tubes are listed in a table and illustrated.
